Maria Abasi

Research Analyst

Maria Abasi focuses on supporting data collection and analysis for various projects. Her assignments include supporting the evaluation of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation's Early College High School Initiative and the Bridging the Valley: A STEP Ahead for STEM Majors, project which involves a consortium of four Shenandoah Valley higher education institutions.

Ms. Abasi earned her B.S. in general psychology from Xavier University of Louisiana in New Orleans. During college, she worked as a summer research assistant with a professor of psychology at Xavier University and assisted with the design and execution of a research study entitled The Effects of Stereotype Threat on a College Campus. Upon graduation, Ms. Abasi worked as a research assistant at Social Dynamics, LLC, where she conducted several hundred phone surveys as part of two studies for the Institute for Higher Education Policy.
