Kaeli Keating

Education Researcher

Kaeli Keating, Ph.D., has concentrated on high school reform. She is currently the deputy director for the Carnegie Corporation's Schools for a New Society Initiative and the Deputy Director on the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation’s Early College High School Initiative. She also co-leads a U.S. Department of Education project, Bridging the Divide, that examines the influence of state and local K-12 and postsecondary policies on the implementation of local dual enrollment programs for high school students.

Prior to joining SRI, Dr. Keating served as study director/program officer at the National Academy of Sciences, Board on Testing and Assessment. During her tenure at the National Academy, she provided staffing support for Academy committees on education policy and assessment issues and co-authored several academy reports.

Dr. Keating earned her Ph.D. in education psychology and education policy at the University of Maryland, where her dissertation examined the effect of teacher engagement on student achievement and motivation. Dr. Keating also holds degrees in psychology and education and worked as a guidance counselor for five years in the Prince George's County School System, Maryland.
