Evaluation of the Minnesota Department of Human Services' Child Care Assistance Program School Readiness Connections Project

SRI is evaluating the Child Care Assistance Program's (CCAP) School Readiness Connections (SRC) project for the state of Minnesota. The CCAP program provides financial subsidies to help low-income families pay for child care, so that parents may pursue employment or education leading to employment and that children are well cared for and prepared to enter school ready to learn. The SRC project provides incentives for selected CCAP providers to partner with counties and parents to promote the skills and abilities that children served by CCAP need to succeed in school, improve the quality of the child care that CCAP children experience, improve the continuity of care children experience, and continue to support parents' employment and/or schooling that will lead to employment. In the evaluation, SRI is collecting data about how SRC funds are used and about the impact on participating programs, children, and families.
