Tracy Huang

Research Analyst

Tracy Huang, Ed.D., specializes in educational assessment and evaluation and has experience designing data collection tools and collecting data from children and adults. She is experienced in both quantitative and qualitative data collection and analytic methodologies.

Recently, she worked on the National Longitudinal Transition Study-2 (NLTS2) and was responsible for training and leading a team of staff to code high school transcripts, as well as cleaning and analyzing transcript data. Moreover, Dr. Huang contributed to writing NLTS2 fact sheets and reports. Dr. Huang also has worked on the IDEA Analytic Support Task, in which she examined extant data sources related to children with disabilities and special needs and wrote chapters for the final report.

Previously, Dr. Huang contributed to the First 5 California statewide evaluation, by serving as project leader for the analysis of fiscal, program activity, and participant outcome data for several First 5 annual reports; she wrote several chapters for the First 5 Annual Report to the Legislature. In addition, Dr. Huang served as the technical assistance leader for fiscal data collection and data exports; her responsibilities included conducting training and providing individual consultations to the County Commissions.

Before joining SRI, Dr. Huang worked at the City University of New York, where she assisted in the development and implementation of a new writing assessment for university students. She has research experience working in the Chinese-American community with children with disabilities and other special needs, including participant recruitment, focus group facilitation, qualitative analysis and report writing.

Dr. Huang received her Ed.D. in measurement and evaluation from Teachers College, Columbia University.
